Props!

The props that I have already specified that I will be using are:

A crucifix
I will be using a crucifix to include the religious element which is evident in many conventional supernatural-horrors.

A swing-set
I will be using a swing-set to give connotations of innocence and childishness in my trailer. This is a common theme of supernatural-horror films.

Character costumes!

In horror movies, costumes are usually very plain and neutral so that they don't attract too much attention. In horror movies, the main focus should be on the action, therefore paler colours should be used for the costumes. Things that I need to consider are:

Age of the girl
In my trailer, my actors are slightly older than the characters that they are portraying are meant to be.Therefore, I plan to drape them in clothes which are a bit more childlike or baggy. For example, I will probably make them wear skirts and t-shirts as to make them seem more girly and innocent.

Time period
Although I haven't been specific in determining the time in which the dead girl comes from, I feel that it is obvious from my trailer that she is from the past, therefore I will try to find some more 'dated' clothes to drape her in.

Character make-up!

Since one of the main characters featuring in my trailer is a ghost, I've decided to create a make up look which would make the character look more authentic. I researched various make up tutorials on YouTube and then went on to create my own look based on this research.

This is the full finished make up look:

Actor Problems

I have a problem. Although I am  ready to go with filming my trailer, my actors aren't around - in fact, they have both gone skiing in Austria for ten days. Therefore, it goes without saying that I am unable to film for this period.

However, although I've reached this little problem, it has also given me more time to prepare, so that my storyboard is absolutely perfect by the time I can actually film. I've been racking my brains to think of things and ways that I can work on my storyboard, and I've made a list of things that I can definitely improve/do.

Different Locations
My whole storyboard takes place in the same house/location. Although many supernatural horror films take place inside the home, I feel that following this convention will not show my creative abilities as much as broadening my locations would.

Costumes
It has only just occurred to me that I haven't put very much thought at all into my choice of costumes. I also have little knowledge about the conventional costumes of a supernatural horror. I plan to research and decide on costumes for my own movie trailer in the next ten days.

Props
I need to find appropriate props to include in my trailer. For example, my storyboard includes a crucifix but I am yet to find an appropriate crucifix to use.
