Lighting

There sre parts of my trailer which I need to be a lot darker than they actually are.

Therefore, naturally the first thing I tried was selecting these parts and clicking on video effects. I then figured that the next thing to do would be to choose 'brightness/contract' from the next set of options. From there my steps were pretty simple, I had to click on 'darken' and drag it onto my selected areas. This was the outcome.

I instantly knew that I didn't like this effect, it didn't make my trailer look very dark, but just (I felt) took away from the quality of it. I didn't keep this effect on because of these reasons.

The next thing that I tried I wasn't sure about but I tried it anyway. After the 'darken' effect didn't work, I was willing to try pretty much anything in order to  make my trailer look darker. I browsed the menu and came across the option 'greyscale'. I thought that maybe turning my trailer almost (but not quite) black and white would give the effect of a darker scene.

I then saw the option 'half and half' which I instantly went for. The outcome of this was:

Although I liked this one, it still didn't make the scene look very much darker. Therefore I chose not to use it.
