Starting my poster

The first steps to creating my poster is opening my chosen photo in the Serif program "PhotoPlus X5". After doing this, because I am new to the program I am not really very sure where to go. I looked around the program and looked for anything that I think will be useful for me to start with. I came across the option "Photo Fix" and this seemed appropriate to click on because the raw photo did not yet look good enough. Here I tried on some effects to improve the photo.

First I tried the effect "Old Film" because it coincided with my trailer:

This effect seemed okay but I didn't know if it was appropriate because although the colours had changed, the effect of the photo remained pretty much the same.

The next effect that I tried was also of a sepia tone, but it was called "Intense Sepia":

This effect was not what I expected it to be, but there was something about it which screamed "poster" at me. I liked it and I am willing to try to make this into my final poster.

One thing that bothered me about this effect was the sepia tone. I would prefer it if it was in black and white. This bar was at the side for me to make this happen.
